About Ele Elna Elak

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the campaign still active?

Yes. The campaign is fully active and ongoing, as daily distributions continue in Gaza. Funds are urgently needed to cover drinking water, food, electricity, and operational costs — including teachers’ salaries at Al Hurrya School. The campaign will remain active until a ceasefire is in place and long-term needs can be assessed.

We continue to raise the fundraising goal as our operational needs persist. This is not a one-time emergency, but an ongoing reality. We will always share the total amount raised and how it is used.

Who is behind Ele Elna Elak?

The campaign is led by Palestinians in Gaza, including teachers, filmmakers, and community organizers. We work in close coordination from outside Gaza, supporting logistics, communications, and fundraising — but the leadership is entirely local.

How are the funds being used?

All donations go directly to Palestinians managing the campaign on the ground. There are no hidden management salaries. Everyone involved in international coordination — including communications, fundraising, and strategy — works entirely on a voluntary basis.
Your donations cover:

  • Water truck deliveries
  • Basic food supplies
  • Electricity
  • Teachers’ salaries and school operations (Al Hurrya School)
  • Community support and emergency needs

We share regular accounting and totals raised for transparency.

Are you still able to operate inside Gaza?

Yes — even under total siege. Palestinians in Gaza continue to run the campaign, organize distributions, and teach students wherever possible. We stay in constant coordination, adapting every day to the evolving situation.

However, communications are heavily restricted. Electricity is scarce or nonexistent, and internet access is often shut down. Uploading videos or sending large files is nearly impossible. That’s why updates may be occasional — but the work is always ongoing.

Can money still reach Gaza?

Yes. We have secure and trusted channels to get funds directly to our team inside Gaza. This includes educators, coordinators, and local logistics leads. Sometimes donations are transferred directly into Palestinians’ accounts on the ground, or through cryptocurrency — currently one of the only functioning ways to move money under siege. In other cases, we pay local companies directly (such as water and transport providers) to ensure essential services keep running.

Why do you keep raising the fundraising goal?

Because the situation demands it. Needs are ongoing, and prices fluctuate daily under siege. We don’t believe in pretending the crisis is temporary — our commitment is long-term. The goal is adjusted as real-time needs evolve.

Instead of launching fragmented fundraisers, we keep a single central campaign for clarity, continuity, and transparency.

Why aren’t you posting content every day?

Because Gaza is under total siege. Communication lines are often cut, internet is unreliable, and people risk their lives to send even small updates. This is not a media failure — it’s a war zone.

When we do manage to share images or videos, it’s thanks to brave and creative efforts by Palestinians inside Gaza. We ask for your patience and trust. This silence is not absence — it’s blockade.
